DIANA DRUMMOND

Born in the 1880s, Mr. MacAndreis claimed that he was a direct descent from the first House of Stewart,
more particularly to King James IV, whose first wife was Margaret Drummond.
He named his brand as Diana Drummond, paying respect to his royal ancestors,
and Diana, a mythical highland heroine, blessed with the ability to comfort and heal women.




In the 1950s Mr. MacAndreis

- Elspeth Gibbs, a previous owner of Diana Drummond
started making his products including a romantic perfume of heather in bloom,
on the banks of the Crinan Canal near Lochgilphead.
“It started in Lochgilphead, which I grew up in as a child.”





Mr. MacAndreis was a very well-known in the area,
and people really liked the products.

Everyone had a bottle of perfume on the dressing table.
Diana Drummond Skin Food products were also displayed in The Egg Shed.
Old brochures showed off the efficacy, with the pride of Mr. MacAndreis.
